Movement Is the Reason

Last night during training, Gabi had her knee pressed into the middle of my back while I was doing pulldowns.

She said, “I’m not helping you. I’m just not letting you move forward.”

And honestly, that’s the whole lesson.

After more than a decade training together, she still catches the little things I don’t even realize I’m doing — like letting my shoulders roll forward, slouching, or finding the easiest way through a hard movement.

Lately, our workouts have been a whole new kind of challenge. We’re still lifting, still using weights, still pushing strength — but we’ve also been adding more movement, more cardio, more dance, more sweat, more “what muscle is that and why is it yelling at me?”

And I love that.

Because movement is the reason.

Not perfection.

Not punishment.

Not trying to be 25 again.

Just staying in your body. Listening to it. Challenging it. Supporting it. Letting it surprise you.
